At the annual Stichting Marketing Congress (find keynotes here) in Ghent, Belgium, Steven van Belleghem was privileged to share his vision on collaboration, crowdsourcing and new powerlaws that have developed since the rise of the people’s internet (check out this The Standaard article, Dutch). Social media is a big catalyst in the process of giving the consumer a voice but they go beyond just that: think of the Arab Spring, think of news stories that first break via Twitter. In his talk, Van Belleghem poses the idea of structural collaboration instead of giving the consumers a voice in just some campaigns, as part of strategical public relations-purposes.
The idea of structural collaboration is in line with the InSites Consulting objective to give consumers a real voice by bringing them into the boardroom. A profound way to do just that, is by implementing Research Communities. Below you will find the presentation and the video that is embedded in it. The congress was held on friday and saturday, december 2nd and 3rd. You may want to see what’s beeing said on Twitter during the event, follow some tweets at #smc2011be.
